Onboarding Day

Where It All Started

On January 26th, our team of advisors, engineers, designers, and founders gathered for the first time at our Toronto HQ for onboarding. After months of planning, our founders, Adam and Mike, put their trust in a group of talented individuals eager to build the next generation of company software.

The day was about getting the basics right, and in the middle of all that setup, catching the first real signs that what we'd been planning was finally set in motion.

The Team The Team

The Morning

Our day started with the team gathering to collaborate and discuss our goals moving forward. The meeting was also a chance for all of us to be in one space and start building the kind of trust a team needs going forward. Nini is a fast-growing startup, and something this ambitious is no easy job. Finding time to connect early, before things got busy, was key to building the foundations of our team's ecosystem.

A good chunk of the day happened around a whiteboard, laptops open, water bottles scattered across the table, someone sketching out how the pieces of the system connected.

The First Company Outing

As a competitive group, we decided to grab a quick bite to eat and then bring our talents to a bowling alley. But bowling quickly became less about the score and more about who could come up with the most ridiculous photo and team name. James dominated the leaderboard and has declared himself “the best”.

Why It Mattered

January 26th was the beginning of our team and our first real chance to get to know each other and connect in person. The day was marked by endless rounds of coffee, heathy competition, and donuts. A perfect way to mark the start of Nini.

Cheers,

Nini
